With thanks to Community Board 3‘s Susan Stetzer for her persistence, to Housing Works for providing the receptacles, and to New York City Department of Park and Recreation‘s Jamil and his crew for installing the kiosks upon their arrival so expeditiously (Stanton, Broome, Grand Street areas).
These will make our park safer – having a place to safely dispose of used needles means fewer are left on the ground, in playgrounds or planting beds.
We hope to see a surge of community training on how to use them and why to use them.
We are in this together.
