NYC Parks proposal for Fort Greene Park
All the greenery in this photo will be paved if we do nothing.
Preserve Greenery in Parks Citywide
NYC Parks plans to eliminate the trees and canopy we rely on to enjoy the park amid rising air pollution and more extreme summer heat waves. The plaza design proposal would require cutting down 58 mature shade trees at the northwest corner alone. A total of 83 trees will be removed across the entire park.
The same NYC Parks program is being applied to “parks citywide”.”
