The Last Night of Think!Chinatown’s Chinatown Night Market and, Unbelievably, Lights Are Out Inside Sara Roosevelt, Forsyth Side Hester to Delancey and Rivington Transverse. What You Can Do About It

It was a tremendous night out in Chinatown and South of Sara Roosevelt Park.

It was however “Light’s Out” Inside the Park – All along Forsyth, on to the DOT Plaza and the Rivington Transverse.

Inside and across the street in a park with two high profile murders, we have no lights and an open air stolen goods market.

What can you do? Below

We encourage everyone to call 311 and send the complaint number to the CB3 office. Every time you see a light out.
We have an entire building in this park devoted to “Communications”. Which apparently has something to do with safety in Parks in every borough.
Meanwhile, bureaucratic rules would take away one source of lighting on Rivington:
lighting project at Rivington – the ONLY illumination there (all lights are out on the new DOT Plaza and along Rivington).
We also have Decaying plywood barriers on Forsyth between Stanton and Rivington: These continue to obstruct sight-lines into the park, providing hidden areas.
Please Call 311 for all of this.
